About Me

Vasilis Bardakis

Hello! I'm a recent graduate from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (CEID) at the University of Patras (July 2025, GPA: 7.67/10). I've been passionate about programming since I was young, and over the years I've built experience across full-stack development, game engines, and VR technologies.

Currently, I work at StudyFetch as a Full-Stack Developer, where I help build educational features using Next.js, React, and various database systems. I enjoy creating applications that handle thousands of users and actually make a difference for students. One of my favorite projects at StudyFetch has been working on our Discord integration—I helped develop the bot and built the entire accompanying website (bot.studyfetch.com) from scratch using Next.js. It was a great learning experience implementing everything from user authentication to real-time data updates and efficient database design.

During my studies, I got to work on some really interesting research projects. For my thesis (September 2024 - June 2025), I developed dynamic ecosystem simulations in Unity, which was both challenging and rewarding. I also spent a year as the lead programmer for "3DSustainAvio" (2023-2024), a funded project where I created VR educational experiences for schools. These projects taught me how to break down complex problems and build user-friendly solutions.
